Meet Queen Latifa, Who Wants To Be Nurse Latifa!

She Wants To Become A Nurse

Age: 8years old
School: Not going to School
Class: Stopped in Primary 1
Story Line: Queen Latifa, as everyone at the village likes calling her, is a very hard working girl. When you were 8 years old, you probably had fun in school, learning and playing with your classmates, and did not have a care in the world. Your biggest concern may have been what you were wearing to school the next day or should you tell your parents you got a sad face for your behavior.

This is not the case for Queen Latifa. Latifa lives in Kayunga, and at the tender age of 8 years old she  goes from house to house cleaning and doing other household chores just to earn money to eat. Latifa became homless and the age of 8 and that is also when she befriended one of the children in the Mupenzi Children’s Home. Whoever she helped who always insisted that she stayed over for the night.

The next morning Latifah would wake up and look for work to buy food and water. She would continue to befriend kids in other homes just to have a place to lay her head at night.. Latifa is in surprisingly good health considering her predicament  and wants to be a nurse when she grows up. Why does she want to become a nurse ?   During her homeless days Latifa would get ill with malaria but had no one to care for her or provide adequate medical attention.

She wants to be a traveling nurse who would travel from village to village and help other children who are facing the same hardships that she has. At the tender age of 8 years old she already has had to drop out of school, work to earn money to eat and sleep, and have face illnesses that no child should have to face. Through it all, she has remained strong, and her character is one that the world can learn from. Imagine the impact she can have on the lives of others if we help her fulfill her dream of becoming a nurse! You help this one child, and this one child will help hundreds and inspire thousands.  Latifah needs a sponsor to take her back to school !
